Anonymous - new female officer, 2 weeks after training got dragged into a cell at HMP Littlehey today during accommodation fabric checks. Core day and only 2 staff on the wing, repeatedly strangled unconscious and barricades in the cell. Prisoner was undressing as staff attended. Alarm was only raised by a prisoner!!
It’s too bad that stupidity isn’t painful. Ignorance is one thing, but our society thrives increasingly on stupidity.
I can’t imagine that she’d stay in the job after such a hoffic and traumatic event. If she does, she’s got balls harder than any substance on this earth. I just hope she’s given the care and support she truly needs right now. I can’t even begin to imagine the horror...
Where no f**ks are given and we all mosh until our necks fall off. Capiche?!
Oh goodness me. 😔. This makes me very sad. I hope she gets all the support in the world. She needed balls of steel going in there in the first place! I still believe these people should be castrated but there we go.
🖓elkins17 yes you are allowed your beliefs and no one can take that away from you !! But in this role you need to suspend judgement and treat all that are convicted by the courts fairly and with humility no matter what crime they may have commited
Oh yes of course. When I walk inside those walls I know I have to suspend my judgement. As long as I’m treated with respect they will get it back from me. It won’t stop the gut wrenching but the gut wrenching won’t stop me doing my job either.

I really do hope the officer makes a full recovery and isn't plauged by the psychological fallout of this but I have various questions surrounding this incident ... did she shoot the bolt ? ... did she radio shout etc ... how did it even happen as at our jail we do them spur by spur and work back to back
I’m largely not going to say much; I’ve worked with sex offenders and sometimes they are very unpredictable. The nature of the offence of often very spontaneous as was this incident.
It is possible there wasn’t time to shoot the bolt etc... we often may unlock and not get chance... things can happen so fast; new staff will have access to oasys to be able to see the full report; I’ve not read his name be released nor this article on purpose. I’ll abstain as if prefer to. I don’t need to know as he’s not at my jail... but for anyone interested remember things are audited on who you read things about.
I’ve spoken to an officer from Littlehey. I hope this lady makes a full recovery and fingers crossed the care team or PAMAssist etc can provide her with the support she will need to attempt to recover from what: must have been extremely traumatic.
We are ALL in this together regardless of recruitment stage.
