I had my ARC in January and was put on the merit list. I have had an email yesterday saying they are ready to do my vetting now (conditional job offer)
I’m just wondering if anyone can answer this as it’s creating a bit of anxiety within me. I was DISCHARGED from bankruptcy in September 2017. Does anyone know if this will be ok in terms of vetting. I know you can’t apply while undischarged.
As long as you are truthful with the vetting team you have as good a chance as anyone, we have had people with drink driving charges apply and get through. If you can prove that you are free from debt now and are not vulnerable because of money problems then there shouldn’t be an issue. But only vetting will know for sure as no one really understands what the criteria is when it comes to them.
It’s too bad that stupidity isn’t painful. Ignorance is one thing, but our society thrives increasingly on stupidity.

Ahh thanks, that’s reassuring. I feel like now I’m at this stage I’m panicking about everything.
I spent time in 2016 living in rehab for alcohol addiction ( I’m 3 years sober now) I’m worried that may bite me on the arse. But like you’ve said I’m just going to be truthful from the outset. If it’s meant to be it will be. I feel like my journey so far would be an asset in the service. I know everyone has been here and would of had their own personal anxieties around the vetting.
